Samunnat Nepal: An Introduction
Samunnat Nepal (SN) is a national non-profit organization run by non-political social and development professionals with an extensive experience working in the field of education, social and community development. SN believes education as a key foundation for any nation’s development. As one of the famous saying “it takes a whole village to raise a child”, education is not only the responsibility of Government but extends to the like-minded partners, communities, and families as the smallest units for a child’s development. Investment in human resources is the key to success along with other resources. Overall development of Nepal lies in the hands of the people who are capable, creative and cohesive to address the root causes of inequitable society and has strong willpower to bring positive transformation in the society. SN commits to building the capacity of the education key stakeholders to create a world where all children have an opportunity to realize their full potential which we believe is a basic human right. Rightly educated people can make thoughtful and informed decisions that will positively affect their lives, their families, their communities and the world itself, regardless of caste, creed and economic status.
Vision:
Education stakeholders capacitated with innovative solutions and strategies to promote lifelong quality learning for all.
Mission:
To advocate at the policy level to create equitable quality learning society through evidence-based strategies, integrated approaches, and capacity building.
Goal:
Ensured support to the government in implementing the policy for the equitable quality learning environment for all children and adolescents in the nation.
Objectives:
SN has three-pronged strategic objectives in order to fulfill the above vision, mission and goal:
(i) To demonstrate Innovative solutions through research and evaluation:
- Design and develop innovative programs to address the learning needs of children and adolescents at risk
- Design and develop resource materials (training materials; Information Education and Communication materials, guidelines, training modules & manuals)
(ii) To build the capacity of partners and key stakeholders
- Provide training to key education stakeholders to implement projects/ programs effectively.
- Conduct and facilitate workshops, consultations, and planning meetings.
(iii) To advocate and promote partnerships
- Conduct action research and collect evidence of proven innovation and best practices.
- Disseminate share and exchange experiences and best practices.
- Develop evidence-based strategies for advocacy at various levels.
- Promote partnerships with civil society and government to scale up proven innovative solutions.
